About Me
Hi, I'm Kyrie at Surrey Counselling
I have always been deeply interested in how our life experiences shape us—impacting our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours. This curiosity led me to pursue a Psychology degree at the University of Surrey, followed by a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, having recognised the profound effect that early life experiences can have on our adult lives, including (but not limited to) navigating neurodiversity issues.
However, my journey didn’t always follow this path. For over a decade, I worked in a fast-paced marketing career—a role I truly enjoyed. It was in this environment that I realized the aspects of my job I found most rewarding were helping the people I worked with overcome personal barriers that were holding them back.
Now, as a therapeutic counsellor, I work with both adults who have endured significant trauma, often leading to challenges like anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and addictions; and children who are navigating the world whilst discovering who they are in it. I have helped clients navigate through difficult experiences such as stress, shame, guilt, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexual trauma, low self-worth, grief, and loss.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), meaning I adhere to their Code of Ethics to ensure the highest standards of care. You can learn more about these ethical guidelines here.
